Introduction to Coaching
In 1:1 coaching, we embark on a co-constructive experience together. As your coach I have an extensive knowledge of human psychology and behavior while you are the expert on you! My programs are set up for complete transformation and empowerment by equipping you with tools that you will use to make adaptive changes for the rest of your life.
What the Domains Offer
I offer a series of domains that are designed to help you uncover your current barriers to change and empower you to reach your full potential. Each experience contains learning content and exercises that facilitate deep reflection on your current circumstances, defining your change, as well as a structured plan for making the leap, with my full support every step of the way.
The Research
The Adaptive Edge Framework was developed at Harvard and perfected over years of experience helping people to meet all types of goals in their personal and professional life. I have drawn from theory and methods in psychology, neuroscience, and adult learning to bring you personalized experiences that are as complex as the mind itself.
Why it Works
Beyond the research-based methods, the coaching works primarily because of the emphasis I put on the relationship between coach and client. I focus on empathy in every interaction and have a sharp memory for your deep desires, pain points, and patterns. I also have a keen sense for control and pacing and involve the client in the meaningful decision making on every step of the journey. Take a look at what my previous clients are saying about their experiences.

Your Coach
Greg Murray, Ed.M
As a developmental psychologist I have a deep understanding of how people learn, grow, and change over time. I have worked with a wide range of clients, supporting people in overcoming deeply ingrained beliefs and patters in their personal lives to changing careers and meeting professional goals.
The Adaptive Edge Framework is the culmination of years of research in developmental and social psychology, neuroscience, and behavior change, and is founded in Harvard professor Robert Kegan’s constructive developmental theory and Immunity to Change coaching method.
In addition to 1:1 coaching, I consult with organizations to develop their leaders and teams to realize their highest potential, and I am currently a lecturer on social psychology and health at Emory University. I was formerly a lecturer at EM Lyon Business School on the topics of interpersonal communication and professional development. I hold a masters in human development and psychology from Harvard and a bachelor of arts in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania. I am currently conducting my doctoral research at Emory University on empathy and moral action in healthcare contexts.
FAQ
What is a life coach? Is it different from therapy?
Like therapy, coaching focuses emotional expression and meaning making, which are central to any growth process. My coaching tends to be more goal-oriented and self-driven than most therapeutic approaches, and at Adaptive Edge Coaching we also provide you with psycho-education and tangible exercises so that you understand the process of psychological change deeply and are empowered to meet change goals more easily in the future.
How long does the coaching last?
Many people benefit from single issue coaching, particularly for interpersonal communication and assertiveness training. Many times people experience significant growth in these areas in just four sessions. If you are going through a major life change or trying to change deeply ingrained patterns, then we can expect engagements of around 4-6 months or longer.
What is Adaptive Edge Academy?
Adaptive Edge Academy is the e-Learning platform that houses all of our educational videos. As a 1:1 coaching client, the e-learning is an essential part of your development where you will access videos and exercises tailored specifically to you.
How will a life coach help me reach my goals?
In short, I will help you define your goals and understand deeply the subconscious psychological processes that are preventing you from making a change. From there you will complete exercises and take action in the areas of psychological change, emotional regulation and intelligence, identity construction, and interpersonal communication. I am highly empathetic and adapt my style and pacing to match my clients’ needs.
What if I am not sure about my goals and which path I want to follow?
Some of my clients already have their specific goals lined out before we begin, while others just have a sense of feeling stuck and wanting to change. Contact me with your initial thoughts and I will send you a brainstorming exercise and, as always, the initial consultation is free to decide if we are a good match for each other.
Do we meet in person for sessions or virtually?
Sessions are held on Zoom or in person in Atlanta, GA.
